BuxBack Has Your Back

As some of you may be aware, Bank of America has announced their new $5 debit card fee that that has been effective since October 1st, 2011.  According to Bank of America it is a necessity for continuing to provide the full range of added features to debit card customers, such as fraud protection and monitoring, special savings programs, and other services.  Bank of America customers seem to differ and have expressed how they are less than thrilled about new debit card fees. 


If you are a Bank of America customer, most likely you are not going to cancel your checking

Cash from Credit/Debit Cards – Rewards Program Lets Consumers “Double Dip”

A San Diego company is promoting a better way to make the most of spending using your credit/debit cards. It’s all about the transaction

The mobile check in, the group coupon and cash back are the hottest trends in the local consumer/merchant relationship.  These trends are beginning to quantify the exchange between consumers and merchants at the retail level, therefore creating an explosion of opportunity. The consumer/merchant connection is evolving so fast, the terms to describe it are changing monthly, but so far it seems that most revolve around: performance based, geo-location, geo-social , and the more recent online to offline (O2O).

Merchants are energized by these options for marketing beyond the previously acceptable 1% response rate. Every day merchants are asking us: how do I get customers in here today, how do I increase sales, how do I differentiate myself from my competition and how can I retain my loyal customers. 

Consumers obviously are an important piece of the puzzle because without them, transactions don’t happen; and, they are playing a more exciting roll these days. Badges, check ins, location sharing, and large discount coupons are all the rage. Cash Back is coming on very strong; just look at Chase and eBay and BuxBack.

So why are these mediums increasing in popularity? Is it the amazing results for the merchant or the incredible deal for the consumer?  No.  It is because of the potential to connect customers from online to the local merchant (offline). Even better, tracking the transaction and capturing the related data, is where the real value is. Non-traditional advertising methods such as group coupons and cash back can provide merchants with customer demographics such as who the customers are, what zip they live in and what their preferences are.

Mobile players are in the space, but they can’t yet close the transactional loop because they are missing the redemption piece.  It’s coming though, just look up NFC chips in iPhone’s .  Until they arrive, Check In’s, tasks and pictures are cool, but they won’t prove a transaction took place.  BuxBack works with mobile payment chips because you can link your enrolled card and have the ability to get cash back by waiving your cell phone at a terminal.
